As he turned off the news broadcast a few minutes later, he found himself smiling. The police are running around searching for anyone who may have seen or been with Maxine within the past twelve hours. But, at this point in time they don’t have any leads.

Dumb ass cops. Did they really think that he was just going to make things that easy for them so they could solve this quickly? Well, not this time. They will never know. They will never get to the truth of it all. They can’t stop this. He won’t rest until every fucking one of them is dead. By then, it will be too late.

He could see it all so clearly as if it were happening all over. The look of fear on Maxine's face when she realized what was about to happen, the sound of her voice as she had screamed when he plunged the knife deep into her, and then finally, the glimmer of recognition when she slowly recognized who he was. How she figured it out was beyond him. Maybe being that close to death had clarifed things in her mind. Whatever it had been, it only lasted for a second. She whispered his name so softly, bringing a small smile to his lips; that had been the last breath she drew. She had tried, in vain, to beg him not to kill her; but, he didn’t listen. When it was over, this climatic, nearly orgasmic feeling washed over him. It was done; he had finally gotten one of them.

The best part of it all was that they have no idea that he was coming for them. Stupid fucks, he would show them…he'd show them all.

All of those years that he had spent steadily planning this out, following them and becoming familiar with their routines has finally come to a head. The plan was now set into motion. Now, he could remove the picture of Maxine from his wall. One down, five more to go. None of them knew what was in store for them.

They thought their secret was safe. They thought nobody knew and nobody would find out, but they were wrong. He found out, he found out the hard way. They probably don't even remember him now. But they will, they all will. They will remember…they will definitely remember.
