Why God Must Be Killed

When thinking about killing God (something I pray you don’t contemplate) we have to ask ourselves, why? Why would we want to eradicate an entity so powerful and loving?

Therein lies the answer to the question; God is too lovingly powerful for Him to co-exist with our selfish society. A society that has come to believe that man is God, and that we cannot co-exist with another God who sees Himself as more powerful than we are.

For if He’s God, then we’re not. And if we’re not, our decadent lifestyle and moral decline cannot be justified under the guise of tolerance and enlightenment.

No, instead, (following the Bible guidelines) we are wretched souls, who are supervising our own demise.

Have you ever noticed that each society that has fallen throughout history has a period right before its falling that can correctly be termed anarchy?

· An absence of government

· A state of lawlessness or political disorder due to the absence of governmental authority

· A utopian (my emphasis) society of individuals, who enjoy complete freedom without government

· Absence or denial of any authority or established order

Now apply that definition to the character of America. An honest appraisal will lead you to an inescapable conclusion; America is rapidly escalating into an advanced form of anarchy. It’s not apparent at first because we’re in a period of declining freedoms, which makes one wonder if we are absent government authority.

Truth is, government has never been more oppressive here at home as it is now. We can barely take a breath without having to ask government, at the local, state, and national level, for permission.

No, lack of government intrusion in our lives is not the problem. Quite the contrary. While not comparing our government to the pre-WWII government of Germany, there is a principle comparison that deserves attention.

First they came for the communists,

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the socialists,

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the Catholics,

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Catholic.

Then they came for me,

and there was no one left to speak for me.

(Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984)

In America today everyone looks to government to solve our problems, when the truth is Ronald Reagan was right, “Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them.” Seriously, sit down and write down all the problems our government solves. Except for the defense of our nation by our heroic military, all government does is make our lives more difficult or destroy our God-given right of free will. We are like the German elite described by Pastor Niemöller, except in our case we’re not talking about groups of people per se, but our freedoms. We sit quietly in our self-righteousness, because this or that right doesn’t pertain to us directly, and soon we will wake up and find that our rights, too, have been taken, and there’s no one to help us.

The Congress, Executive branch, and our courts have all been corrupted and are now part of the problem, when we so desperately need solutions.
