There are an infinite amount of books, videos, articles, software programs, and other real estate “how to” marketing systems that tell you how to become successful in real estate. But very few real estate agents actually reach the level of success they expect or desire. The research in this book examines the motivations, behaviors, and experiences of some of the most successful real estate agents in Northeastern Ohio. The majority of the participants in this study were nationally ranked by their respective real estate companies. Understanding the motivations, behaviors, and experiences which have led them to their success reveals the true essence of their success. Each participant chose different paths to their auspicious accomplishments, but they all ensured their success due to perseverance, self-determination, and purpose. The participants interviewed in this book all believed they would be successful if they had a strong work-ethic, took risks, and followed a plan based on their abilities. The stories in this book will delve into specific behaviors which led to their successes, but also how success has transformed each of them into ambassadors of their communities.
Explanation of Study
This study explored highly successful real estate agents’ motivations and behaviors which they believe resulted in increased production and profitability. The study also sought to gain a greater understanding of how these motivations and behaviors have increased their business. In addition, this study explored how their new awareness has impacted their health, social interactions, and family. Participants also revealed how they perceive their success will impact their future. Participants also discussed the advantages and disadvantages they now believe have developed from their increased production. Participants in the study included licensed real estate agents who together averaged over $5,000,000 in volume in the past calendar year.
Purpose of the Study
The purpose of this study was to increase the knowledge and understanding of motivations and behaviors of highly successful real estate agents. Gaining a greater understanding of the lived experiences, motivations, and behaviors of individuals who have achieved significant success as a real estate agent produced a deeper understanding and revealed valuable insights regarding the underlying factors associated in an accomplished real estate career. Interviewing was the chosen method for the collection of data to describe individual’s interpretations of the impact of powerful meanings, motivations and experiences empowering their achievements and accomplishments in real estate.
A wealth of pertinent research was available to investigate the experiences, behaviors, and motivations in real estate. There are numerous marketing strategies, books, computer programs, planning guides, and other tools for real estate agents which discuss effective strategies for real estate agents. But uncovering the essence of the motivations and behaviors of successful real estate agents offers insight to actual successful experiences and outcomes in real estate. The purpose of the book was to uncover the relationships of various life-changing experiences, motivations, and behaviors and their impact upon accomplishing significant success as a real estate agent.
