Chapter 1. Fishy business

Monday, March 7, 2011

As was his habit, Professor Gilbert Michaels entered his office through his uninhabited lab at 6 AM in order to get organized for the busy day ahead. Today, there was a surprise waiting for him. From behind, a cloth soaked in ether suddenly covered his face. He collapsed. A syringe needle was jabbed into his neck.

Ten minutes later he woke up, but felt dizzy and nauseous. A voice from behind spoke to him, “You don’t know me, but you destroyed my life. So, I’ve destroyed yours. You, the expert in poisons from fish, have just become a victim of one.” Professor Michaels found he couldn’t clearly form words. He tried to get up, but was having great difficulty.

“Goodbye Michaels. You’re a thief, but now I’ve stolen your life. I should add, ‘fuck you,’ but fugu will do.”
