This is an excellent book of encouragement and empowerment to women, along with life changing tools to move forward in a positive manner. Be the best that you can be...you can accomplish anything you put your mind and heart into!
Just the same as learning in a seminar, group or class—you will learn much from this book. You may accept and use what applies to you, and perhaps share many special things with others you know who may need them as well. If your life seems anything but charmed, then this book is for you!
You are awesome, just the way you are!
They say that no one has the right to make you feel bad or ruin your
day. Yeah, right. That’s right up there with “sticks and stones
may break my bones, but words can never hurt me.” Where do they come
up with these things? There isn’t a person on this planet that
hasn’t had their day ruined or made to feel bad by someone else. If a
person says something negative about you, or is verbally abusive—of
course it hurts. For some of us, it hurts for a lifetime. But in our
society the norm is to “take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’.” We
are afraid to say anything, often afraid to even stick up for our rights
to defend ourselves, and we’re afraid that if we tell someone else
they won’t believe us. For many years we have kept things inside,
like a burning volcano about to explode. Sometimes we explode at the
wrong time in the wrong place, with the wrong people—and no one
understands why. In fact, frequently we don’t even know why. These
are things people don’t talk about, but they need to be out in the
open with some answers!
Any kind of trauma to one area invariably affects all the others. In a
relationship there may be actual physical abuse, but just as traumatic
is the mental and emotional abuse of invalidation, belittling, ridicule,
being made fun of, negativity. It hurts, there’s no way around that.
These are real issues that won’t go away, and they are happening to
someone every day. Every woman on this planet has a special chamber in
her heart where she hides all of her secret hopes, dreams, fears…and
past hurts. She may share part of that with a best friend—but not all.
Well cheer up, we are going to work on all of this together, and find
many different ways to meet life’s challenges head on…and win!
That’s right, you are a winner. Learn how to be a VICTOR, not a
victim. Always remember that you are a beautiful and talented person
right this second, no matter who you are or where you are.
~ STORIES OF TRANSFORMING GRACE ~
Harmful actions are wrong in any way, shape or form, whether they are
spoken or inflicted. In a relationship there may be actual physical
abuse, but just as traumatic is the mental and emotional abuse of
invalidation, belittling, ridicule, being made fun of, negativity. There
is also invasion of privacy, forcefulness into our lives that we did not
ask for. It hurts, there’s no way around that.
It’s true there are times in life when bad things happen to good
people, and we have no control over that. But given time to recover, we
do have control over regrouping our own lives and moving forward.
WHY DON’T I FEEL LOVED?
If you have ever been mistreated in any way, then you have found it to
be extremely difficult to establish trust with anyone or to feel loved.
The inner core of your soul has been injured and is pushing everyone and
everything away in order to maintain control, even though outwardly you
may appear to be accepting and even cheerful. Why? Because this is a
pre-conditioned response in an attempt to protect yourself from being
hurt again. One major problem with this is that we are unable to feel
God’s love because of our tendency to push everyone away. But guess
what? ... (Con't)
All of a sudden you realize—wait a minute, there has to be more to
life than this! You discover “it is what it is” and learn to deal
with it. You will develop new interests, life has new meaning and you
may strive to find what makes you happy, to improve your life.
Some of the above steps can be in different sequences for each person,
but we need to get to the place where we recognize the need for so much
more in our lives...
