Preface Written by a retired U.S. Rear Admiral, friend and colleague
The stories and lessons of history have been recorded and studied by scholars throughout the ages. And all of us, since our youngest days, have grown physically, mentally and spiritually within boundary conditions set in large part by such stories and the lessons they have taught us. We have witnessed the causes and effects of major historical events and have debated appropriate future actions based upon the lessons of the past. But have we ever stopped and wondered if our firmest held truths and beliefs, which shape how we live our physical and spiritual lives and how we mentally face the future, really represent current reality? Or, has our current reality been shaped by a blurred vision of history as if a magician was using smoke and mirrors to distract our sensory perceptions? And while we are distracted, the seemingly impossible happens without us being able to observe what is really causing the effect that is being magically caused to occur before our very eyes. We study the laws of the universe, which define our physical reality, ponder the great unsolved problems of mankind which stretch our mental reality, and often accept only on faith religious precepts which guide our spiritual reality. We work to see good triumph over evil, to achieve victory rather than face defeat, and to enjoy success rather than suffer failure. But have we ever looked for the common thread that melds our physical, mental and spiritual reality together, possibly in a different plane of existence than we currently accept as “all there is” to this earthly life of ours? Have we “connected the dots” of history properly while integrating various planes of physical, mental and spiritual reality, or have we merely accepted the compartmented analyses done by specialized scientists, philosophers, historians and clerics which have shaped the facts, precepts and stories which we hold as Truths? Smoke and Mirrors takes us back into the past millenniums of history up to present day, and encourages us to re-examine our most firmly held social, economic, political and religious beliefs. This book exposes secret societies and elite oligarchies and truly “connects the dots” of history with astonishing and shocking, yet truly believable, conclusions. As a student, I studied the “cause and effect” theories of history and looked for cause-effect chains to determine and then learn from the root causes of major historical events, both good and bad. I have lived and worked all over the world for the past four decades, retiring first as a Rear Admiral in the U.S. Navy and then as a Corporate Executive, and thought I understood the underlying forces of good and evil that drove behaviors in our world. I achieved successes through hard work and suffered my share of often unexplainable disappointments, always thinking that “causes” were randomly generated and that my best effort could always create the right effect to achieve success. But after working to support the Author during the writing of this book, I have come to accept that the Truth was also hidden from me, that things were not what they seemed. I have learned that powerful forces committed to their own egos and self-interest had purposefully created and continue to create the causes which have created the effects of war, financial collapse, and humanitarian chaos on a global scale. From Julius Caesar to John F. Kennedy to the Rothschild dynasty – from the Roman Empire to the Holy Roman Catholic Church to the NATO alliance – from Nero’s devaluation of the Roman Denarius to FDR’s mandate that all Americans turn in their gold to the 16 Trillion U.S. Dollars in recent bank bailouts by the Federal Reserve Bank – from the crucifixion of Jesus Christ to the assassination of Lincoln to the murder of Muammar Gaddafi, Smoke and Mirrors lays the historical ground work, does the analysis, and then reveals the shocking truths so long hidden by powerful people and their story tellers throughout history. These hidden truths have shaped humankind’s history in ways I could not even imagine, and continue to create the causes, which are producing disastrous effects even today. I was a senior military leader within the liberation force that toppled Saddam Hussein in the spring of 2003, and then attempted to sustain the peace with the same energy and commitment only to find there were forces much bigger than me that preferred chaos to peace. I can now see that such forces were working to control the money to prolong the crisis and to set the stage for even greater conflict such as we now see emerging throughout the Islamic Crescent of Iraq, Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan, the Middle East and North Africa. The secrecy with which this plot is being executed right in front of our eyes and the deceitful mechanisms being used to finance this continued world chaos are topped only by the evil intentions and actions of a small secret group of global Elites who are manipulating world events through their “Money Cartel” to achieve their vision of “One World Government.” Smoke and Mirrors is a call to action for the good people of America and of the world to stand up not against the “so-called 1%”, but against the 1/10,000 of 1% who are actually creating the causes, which produce the effects of war and financial crises. It is a call to action to find the hidden truth about the NATO invasion of Libya and the follow-on non-action in Syria, and to uncover and stop the ongoing abuses within the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank – all of which have been hidden behind smoke and mirrors. But, even more importantly, this research also presents a profoundly spiritual and meta-physical message designed to uplift depressed spirits and to help relieve the mental stress so many people are experiencing in today’s chaotic world. For the only certain way to defeat the forces of evil which have confronted and oppressed humankind for millenniums is to live a good life and to offer positive energy to your family, friends, work associates and the world around you each and every day. This book will no doubt shock you, cause you to question your fundamental beliefs, and may even make you angry. But in the end , the Author lifts you back up, defines what is truly important, and shows you how to address and deal with the physical strife and stress that surrounds you, while achieving mental peace and the kind of true spiritual rebirth which will strengthen you however strong or weak your faith may currently be. As you read this book, trust that the Truths, which have been hidden will be revealed, and the knowledge of these Truths will set you free and lead you to the Light of personal strength and peace. - RADM (ret.) Prologue: Revealing History’s Hidden Truths
I have spent the last decade traveling the world, exploring the recesses of distant lands, cultures and beliefs. I have been immersed in war, and its aftermath when the rebuilding of nations and hope begins. I have been privy to the secrets of war and geopolitical manipulations, and disillusioned by the truths that die under the silence of “national security”. As I began this line-of-work some years ago, I was warned it would eventually become all ‘Smoke and Mirrors’, and that I must stay focused on the light for it will always guide me home. We are dramatically impacted in our lives by events happening around the world. The conflicts and rising tension in the Middle East and North Africa are causing oil, food and gas prices to rise, while our personal wealth and income seem to shrink. As I began writing this book I asked myself, how did we get to this point? Through detailed research and personal experience I “connected the dots” to uncover the facts proving a major hidden truth is the real underlying reason for the NATO-led bombing of Libya and the murder of Gaddafi, which to this day has not been accurately explained to the world. This is merely one manifestation of history’s truths, revealed in this book, which have been hidden behind smoke and mirrors. After all these years of bearing witness to untold details of our hidden history, I want to share a story with you that begins 2,000 years ago and concludes in our present day. This history unveiled has become a light, which has illuminated my path to knowledge, wisdom and ultimately to the empowerment of my mind and consciousness. Along this journey I have discovered the wisdom and beauty of the Hermetic principles, which I will share with you in this book. These principles came to me at a point in my life where I had reached a ‘mental’ dead-end and was seeking more to connect the physical with the spiritual, but couldn’t find it. For me this story is a representation of my efforts to transmute darkness into light. I now understand, and I hope you will experience a similar awakening and journey towards the light. What I want to share with you is really more of a manifesto on the truth. It’s about moving through the smoke, manipulation and deceit, to see the real reflection of ourselves, and what our society has become. It’s difficult to comprehend the full magnitude of the lies we have been fed by those in power who benefit from our ignorance. The journey I want to take you on isn’t about the ‘who’ but rather the ‘what’. It’s about a cancer, which has become an endemic part of our society and has in essence become the ‘God’ so many of us now worship. You may be experiencing a synchronicity of events in your life, which the rational part of your brain encourages you simply to disregard as coincidence. In the past I also felt this way. In my own personal journey exposing fact from fiction, I have come out on the other side to see myself, and what is happening around me for what it is. The greatest mistakes I made in my life, and there are many, were always when I ignored that intuitive voice inside of me. It’s easy to let the rational part of our brain subdue the spiritual essence of our consciousness. The times that I refused to listen to my inner self are the times I have not only made poor decisions but also faced the consequences. Through my personal journey I have learned that there are forces greater than we can conceive which guide us on our paths – the forces of destiny. When we listen to our inner selves and follow the right path, we find that things synchronize and fall magically into place. Maybe we meet the right people or obtain useful information at the very moment we need or seek it. Is this by chance? Absolutely not. I’ve spent years running due diligence investigations in the political or corporate sector and have realized that there are no coincidences. There is a reason for everything. One day in the recent past, I was in between meetings and stopped during my lunch hour in a bookstore to pass some time. I wasn’t looking for anything specifically. As I passed a section of books a small book caught my eye. I picked it up and was fascinated that a book was written by authors calling themselves the “Three Initiates”. How strange I thought. Curious, I bought the book and started reading it that night. From that moment forward my life changed in ways I can’t even describe. It was like seeing for the first time. It opened a world to me, which previously I couldn’t fathom existed. Events began to synchronize around me leading me down a path of personal discovery. This book is about the truth that I’ve discovered, and I encourage you to really open your heart to the world we live in. See it from the depths of your consciousness and let that intuitive voice inside you guide you on your own journey. Some say ignorance is bliss, however when you don’t understand something you tend to fear it. This is only natural. Fear has become endemic in our society and in fact weakens our minds, our hearts and our souls. Move through the smoke and let the light reflect off the mirror. See the world we live in for what it truly is, and with love in your heart make a conscious decision to turn away from the darkness. Awaken your destiny and transmute the darkness in your life into light. “Now we see things imperfectly as in a cloudy mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.” Corinthians 13:12
Chapter One: With Liberty….For All
I want to begin this story at the doorstep of America – at the iconic symbol of American freedom – the Statue of Liberty.
The Statue of Liberty was financed, commissioned and built by the French Freemasons and given to the United States as a gift. It arrived to the New York harbor on June 19, 1885. It was a gift of friendship to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of American independence and overtime it became a symbol of liberty for all. The artist and sculpture was French Freemason, Frederic Argus Bartholdi, who traveled extensively throughout Egypt. The poem written by Emma Lazarus was “In aide of the Bartholdi Pedestal Fund” to raise money for the Statue’s pedestal. It wasn’t until 1903 that the famous poem was engraved and placed at the pedestal to our “Lady of Liberty”.
The poem titled “The New Colossus” in its entirety is as follows:
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame, With conquering limbs astride from land to land; Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand Glows worldwide welcome; her mild eyes command The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame. “Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” Emma Lazarus, 1883
Many historians have pondered who served as the model for this famous statue. Our Lady of Liberty, so eloquently conveyed by Emma Lazarus as “Colossus”, or “person of immense power”. Did you know, she bears striking resemblance to an ancient coin and sculptures depicting a famous child born Cleopatra Selene and under the folds of her garb she appears pregnant. If she is made in the image of Cleopatra Selene, what is the significance of this woman who lived 2,000 years ago? Who was she or more importantly ‘what’ did she represent. Did French Freemason Bartholdi, craft our Lady of Liberty’s magnificent face in the image of Cleopatra Selene, who is worthy of being memorialized so as not to be forgotten to history?
To explore this theory and the other truths presented in this book, you will challenge your most cherished and beloved beliefs, and it will make you question everything you thought was true about history, religion, and the nations for which our sons and daughters have given their lives to protect. Ironically the real truth of what our beloved Statue of Liberty represents and our hidden history unveiled, will set your Soul free.
Seventy-six years after the arrival of Miss Liberty on April 27, 1961, President John F Kennedy gave a famous speech with words so profound the depth and relevance of his speech resonates today. On that spring day in 1961 President Kennedy openly challenge the darkness amongst ‘secret societies’ and chose his path toward the light. He warned America, but amidst the bliss of the rising middle class they didn’t listen.
“The very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers, which are cited to justify it. Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That, I do not intend to permit to the extent that it’s in my control. And no official of my Administration, whether his rank is high or low, civilian or military, should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to censor the news, to stifle dissent, to cover up our mistakes or to withhold from the press and the public the facts they deserve to know.” JFK
Dark forces refusing to be exposed took their shot and assassinated this unique and brilliant man. Few great leaders have stood in the face of these dark forces and said ‘enough – your time is over’. The most extraordinary of these men was Jesus Christ.
Roots of the Truth During the ancient Egyptian civilization, in a period before Moses was born, a man named Hermes Trismegistus brought forth basic truths, which define our existence. Who are we, and why are we here? These basic truths have survived for thousands of years and are the basis of philosophy, religion, psychology and science. All religions are rooted in these principles, which are known collectively as the Egyptian Mystery School of Hermetic doctrine. When these truths have been openly shared wisdom and light overpowered the darkness. As these truths became a victim of politics and were driven away, darkness set in and prevailed. These principles are now widely dispersed and I believe, have led to the ‘awakening’, which is happening all over the world today. An awakening, which I pray will once again transmute darkness into light. This doctrine is known as the Hermetica and the seven principles of everything as stated in the “Kybalion”.
What if someone told you the only REAL TRUTH is the mind, and that thought and consciousness are reality. Would you believe that the physical world around you is an illusion? Would you believe that we are “light bodies” and eternal consciousness living in a mortal physical body? That all of creation is a manifestation of God, and that we, as God’s creation have an eternal consciousness and the gift of manifestation through free will. Can you imagine the world we would live in if everyone truly understood that life in this physical/material dimension is but a dream and that like a dream you can be the architect of your life. As with all dreams there is a beginning and an end, and you will eventually wake up. And as with our consciousness our Soul, it will one day wake up and return to the eternal dimension from which it came. Good and evil manifest in the physical world and in peoples’ lives through free will and conscious, living energy. As the Hermetic principles state: “The Principle of Polarity embodies the idea that everything is dual, everything has two poles, and everything has its opposite.”
So what exactly is evil? I once recall hearing an insightful description of evil as being caused by a relative lack of light that produces collective ignorance. It is in this state of darkness and collective ignorance that dark forces can manipulate perception and manifest fear, pain, greed, and cruelty. I believe these ‘dark forces’ seek to inspire humans to believe there is no God and that this physical world is the only reality, that there is nothing beyond the death of our mortal bodies. The fear of death, and losing ourselves or those we love, entraps our Souls. It eats away at our consciousness. This darkness seeks to achieve this aim, to oppose the light and imprison our consciousness to the same fate.
Herein lays the problem with much of the materialistic driven world and our inherent fear of the unknown. In America our public education system denies spiritualism and the recognition of divine realms, spirit and consciousness. Thus from a very young age many children are taught to deny the truth of their souls and shut off the light in the false search for ‘knowledge and wisdom’. As I have learned in my own journey, knowledge, wisdom and truth come from the inner depths of our consciousness and the realization of our eternal being, and from letting go of fear and embracing our gift of eternal existence. Today we have created a world in which darkness prevails in the pursuit of materialistic things to distract us from our fear of the unknown. Is it any wonder that the ‘dark forces’ amongst us have succeeded in their plan to keep the masses in a perpetual state of ignorance?
Our collective ignorance and worship of the material illusion, has created an endless web of selfish thoughts and desires in which we have entangled ourselves. When we reflect on history we may think we live in a humane world, which is much better off than say 2,000 years ago, but do we really? Look around you at the decadence of many societies and the suffering of others. We live in a world were Western society spends billions to lose weight and we throw away food, while impoverished nations have children who starve to death.
Our troops valiantly and with the upmost courage fight wars on so-called “terror” and “terrorism” in which we have unfortunately perpetuated the deaths of innocent men, women and children simply due to their proximity to extremists. How many people must die to achieve victory? How do we as a society define victory?
I arrived to Baghdad, Iraq in 2004, one-year after the U.S. invasion and ousting of Saddam. I had the pleasure of working and traveling there for years and engaged with Iraqis in the rebuilding of their nation. So many Iraqi’s longed for freedom and looked forward to a future where they had a voice in their nation. As time progressed, their voices were silenced and the bloodshed intensified. Many truths of the conflict were swept under the rug and the loss of innocent life driven by greed and corruption was shrugged off.
I arrived on the shores of Tripoli just weeks after the U.S. Sanctions were lifted in 2004 and had worked in the country until February 17, 2011, the so-called Day of Rage. While in the U.S. I remained in close contact with my Libyan friends and witnessed the conflict through their eyes. The stories they told me varied greatly from the version we were fed in the Western media. As we were told, the NATO bombing in Libya was intended to protect lives and human rights, and to prevent a humanitarian disaster. However the truth was hidden behind “smoke and mirrors”. In fact NATO’s mission for human rights resulted in the deaths of an estimated 50,000 people in 7 short months. I was informed of the actual death toll by a senior government official in Libya’s new transitional government. Libya’s population is under 6 million with the majority (estimated 65%) being under the age of 30. A death toll of 50,000 is staggering by any standards. Imagine the psychological impact of the death of 50,000 men, women and children in your state or country in less than a year. For me this is unimaginable misery. Now the Libyan youth are left to bear the scars of war and its aftermath in which a vacuum of power has ushered in lawlessness, drugs and weapons traffickers.
Do dark forces exist, who create and then feed on all this chaos and suffering? As will be explained further, I believe this is exactly the case. Over the centuries, humanity has been a persistent victim of these dark forces. Despite our access to information in the modern age, there still exits a collective ignorance to the reality in which we live that some call the ‘matrix’. Could a matrix really exist, such as presented in the movie – “Matrix”? Are you prepared to take the ‘red pill’ and delve into the truth of our reality, or do you prefer the ‘green pill’. I hope you choose to explore the realms of possibilities, and in the end make a conscious decision based upon all the facts.
