Timothy M. Shannon
Biography. A prolific writer, Tim is the author of 7 novels, a stageplay and a collection of short stories. His latest novel Da’s American Family completes the Buffalo based “Da’s Shillelagh Triology. In 2007 his second novel, Attica - Journey down the Rabbit Hole, was selected as a semifinalist for the Amazon.com Breakthrough Novel Award. Raised on Tipperary Hill in Syracuse, he came to Buffalo earning his Bachelor of Arts in English and Masters in Education at SUNY at Buffalo and his NYS School Superintendent certificate at Canisius College. He taught English Literature and writing at the Attica Correctional Facility for 4 years and then taught in the Buffalo Public Schools developing writing programs for grades K-12. He has been a high school principal, an adjunct professor at Canisius College and Niagara University and has taught writing and technology courses throughout WNY. An avid outdoorsman, he utilized his experiences to paint settings that enrich his work through detail and emotional connections to the setting. His subject matter, settings, plot twists and multi-faceted characters captivates readers holding their interest to the last page of each work.
